Illustrator Research 35: Gary Baseman
Baseman is an illustrator, artist and cartoonist born in 1960 in Los Angeles, California. He has also worked on the Emmy Award winning television show series called Teacher's Pest as well as many other fields of commercial art. His visual vocabulary includes a long laundry list of oddities, strange characters, and slapstick actions. His inluences are Japanese popa art and Heironymous Bosch. He has worked with clients like Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Esquire, The New Yorker, Time, Reader's Digest, etc. His site is here.
